Utility Technology was started in 1995 to assist utility operators, usually line companies. To simplify their meter reading processes, we developed the WELMeter. This had handheld remotes to gather the data in the field and download to a server. These files were then used for time of use billing (ToU), enabling the lines companies to implement energy efficiency incentives in their pricing models.
