UTILITY TECHNOLOGY DEMAND CONTROLLER

The Demand Controller takes load pulses from the complexes power meter and uses that information to predict the demand for the half hour. If the prediction is above target output relays are opened in a sequential method until the demand is held to target.

This unit has 8 control relays and RS485 communications for communicating with Remote Boxes (for up to 32 discrete loads). Three metering pulse inputs plus a clock reset input are available in standard load control mode.

In 2 Rate mode Inputs, 1 & 2 are for metering pulses and are used for normal load shedding. Input 3 receives changes of state to trigger the Charge Demand Period when all controlled load switches off for settable time periods. Once the Input 3 state is changed to normal loads are stepped on to avoid setting a peak.

The serial port allows the firmware to be updated and the saved data from the built-in data logger can be read and used to create reports. Data includes channel off times and 1/2 hour consumption data. The serial port, when combined with the optional UTL NetRead software, supports a modem to allow remote access and the controller can be set to dial to a remote computer to upload saved data.

If you combine this data with the optional UTL VaeWin software load curves and peak reports are available with minimal effort.
